Getting baptized by Emily Yang

The first time I heard about Jesus was when I asked why we celebrate Christmas. Christmas was my favorite holiday of the year. My mom told me that it was Jesus birthday, which made me wanted to know more about him. When I had my first visit to church, I was really confused on what was going on during the Mass. Now, I know what to do because I took the RCIA class. My teacher told me about the order, and reasons why we go to mass. I learned more of the steps into becoming a holy person and the story of Jesus, which made me wanted to get closer to God.

The highlights of me getting baptized was the real baptism at 8:30 P.M. I was so excited to start having a new life to begin with because I loved being fresh and clean everyday. It gave me a chance to be as pure as Mary, who never had any sins.The part during the baptism I liked the most was getting washed by Father O. because it really washed the bad things out of me. I had already gotten baptized, so I finally got to receive the first Eucharist. I had wanted part of Christ in my body for a long time, because I wanted Jesus to protect and watch over me.

I was so thankful for my godparents, they had helped me so much in guiding me become a catholic It meant so much to me. Overall, I felt so honored that I was part of the holy family. I would continue to learn more about God, and be more engaged into Catholicism. In the future, I hoped I could offer more help into my community.
