My Baptism By Stella Yang

Baptism was an amazing journey that allowed me to grow closer to the Lord. This journey started out at home. Ever since I learned about the Catholic religion, I had the desire to learn more about it. Soon enough, me, my mom, and my sister started attending Sunday masses regularly and taking RCIA classes. The classes taught me a lot about what we did at Church and what we had to do to become better followers of Christ. I felt a lot more knowledgeable after going through these classes as I had learned about prayer, the Catholic Bible, and the Church.
When I heard the news that me and my sister were going to be baptized this year, I was elated. We got to select our saints and even got to attend the Right of Elect in the grand Cathedral Basilica of Saint Joseph. Additionally, I got to meet my lovely godparents- Mrs. and Mr. Wang. I felt like each step of Baptism was allowing me to draw closer to the Lord.
The day I got baptized was unforgettable. Although it had to happen later during the evening, I didn’t get tired. There was a spiritual atmosphere in the church, and everyone was filled with joy and excitement. I enjoyed singing along to many of the wonderful songs and participating in the process itself. After this life changing process ended, I felt that my relationship with Christ was strengthened, and I felt my previous life melt away I’m now ready to begin my lifetime journey of faith!
